Sabino was the best!!! I had tried takeout for lunch at work 2 weeks ago and it was so great, I suggested it when my boyfriend and I were looking for dinner last week. It has very nice romantic vibes, nice decor, and relaxing ambiance. Sabino grabbed us an extra table since the dinner rush was over and we had so many plates on our table. He was so so helpful! I mentioned to my boyfriend that we HAVE to get dessert next time, and Sabino gave us a sample of the mango pudding <3 Mango pudding is my favorite so I was over the moon with the gesture. We definitely will be back, and who knows? I might convert my sisters from Lemon since this is closer to our house :) We had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Saag, Cucumber salad, and garlic naan. 10/10! Thank you Sabino!!! (I'm really worried I remembered his name incorrectly, it could be Sobina)

Absolutely Delicious! Our bartender Zinzi was so kind and polite. Rutba Indian Kitchen blew me away! The chilli milli gobi was bursting with flavor, the tikka masala was creamy perfection, and the garlic naan was soft with just the right char. Loved the mango lassi the taste was amazingly creamy and oh so refreshing. The fluffy basmati rice was flavorful. The Mango pudding was smooth and the chunks of fruits that were subtly mixed in took it over the edge. The Tamarind Twist was tangy and tasty. Warm service, beautiful presentation, and flavors that make you want to come back tomorrow! The food was a symphony of flavors that came together in a perfect matrimony.

We have been meaning to try this place for a long time as one of the closest Indian restaurants to our county (Powhatan). The prices were a little intimidating for a carry out meal and our kid doesn't like the cuisine but we finally decided on Memorial Day weekend to give them a try. TLDR: Don't wait. Go. This place is great! Great value, great food, Easy take-out process. Longer version: We ordered samosas, Chicken Vin D' Alho (medium heat), Lamb Roganjosh (med. heat), 4x Naan, 2x Raita and an extra small rice. Bill was almost $90 but I estimate this amount of food would feed 6-8 people. (We, instead, get lots of leftovers). So, IMHO the prices *seem* high but are actually reasonable for the quality and the quantity of food provided. We got so much extra naan because it is the only thing on the menu our kid would eat. Spice level was perfect and as described. Vin D' Alho was perfect consistency and not at all greasy like I have gotten at some places. Chicken and lamb both were tender enough to fall apart with a spoon and flavorful. There was no need to order the extra rice, the amount provided for what was ordered was plenty, though the extra rice does stretch the meal to feed more people. Also, one Raita would have been plenty, I was expecting a condiment-sized amount like you get with appetizers, but it was closer to a half cup-sized portion. Samosas were gigantic, delicious and you get 2 in an order. It would have been reasonable to cut them in half and share them with 4 people. They come with the 2 traditional dips. Naan was delicious. Ordering online and picking up in 30-mins was easy and hassle-free, despite being on a Sunday before Memorial Day. The drive from there to our house is around 30-mins and the food was still hot when we got home. We will definitely order again and encourage anyone on the fence about this place to give it a try if you like the cuisine. Now, if only we could convince our kid to try something other than naan!

One of the best Old Fashions I've ever had - their signature drink menu is off the chart. Quick seating, excellent service and great tasting food. Rutba is a must visit for connoisseurs of Indian cuisine.

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner at Rutba; a standout was the naan which is a lot lighter and softer than your standard naan. Also, when you order “Indian Hot” they don’t hold back, which I really appreciated. Our server was outstanding: friendly and attentive. My only complaint really is that the tables are a bit close together, it sort of felt like I was at my neighbors table and you can’t exactly have a private convo.

This is a perfect place for date night. This restaurant was decorated very nicely with comfortable seating and use dim lighting that offers a romantic setting. We ordered: Chicken 65 - good flavor, it had a nice kick to it! Chili Milli Gobhi - this was delicious, the batter had a great crisp to it but the cauliflower instead wasn’t overcooked or mushy Goat Biryani - very good, they gave you a decent amount of meat and the rice had great flavor! Lamb Chops - perfectly cooked with great char on the outside. This came with potatoes and asparagus with a side of sauce that tastes similar to butter chicken. Overall - all the food was fresh and delicious. I will say that while the food was flavorful, the flavors were not as intense as how other Indian restaurants I’ve had. It’s more “muted”, which is not a bad thing but thought I’d point that out!

My mom and I decided to come here for lunch today, and it was such a treat! First, it’s crazy that this used to be a Wendy’s…the interior is beautiful and lush and comfy. The service was incredible, Sabino was so attentive and helpful. We got the aloo tiki fritter appetizer and a paneer Kathi roll which were phenomenal and HUGE portions. Our lunch came with soup or salad (we each got one, and we were already full at this point, but so excited for our main dishes). The entrees came and the portions were also gigantic and delicious! My mom got Chana masala and I got the paneer vindalhoo, both were so tasty. Also the lunch was like a whole thali with a buttery pea and rice pudding situation and of course naan…we brought so much home and the value was incredible. We will definitely be back!

I have been to the restaurant two times now and both times it was absolutely phenomenal, especially the palak patta chat, which I literally could not stop thinking about for 3 weeks which is why I went back a second time with my boyfriend. It’s crispy, savory, tangy, and sweet and scratches all the itches in my brain I didn’t even know I wanted this until I had it. This time, we also ordered the Rutba kebab sampler- the chicken was very tender and cooked well, but the dish might be a bit on the bland side compared to the other dishes in the restaurant, but is a safe choice for those adverse to stronger flavors. I also ordered the Rechado Prawns, which were a little spicy and very herby, second favorite appetizer so far. Last time, we also ordered curries, where you can adjust your heat preference. I ordered a grouper curry in American spicy and my boyfriend ordered one in Indian spicy and he was very happy that this is one of the few places that serve to a spice level that can match his tolerance (he loves spicy food). American spicy is probably equivalent to a jalepeno, and Indian spicy is closer to habanero. Both were wonderfully flavorful and we also had flaming naan and paratha as our bread side order. This time, we ordered the house curry with lamb meat with paneer bhatura, and I think the paneer bhatura is my favorite bread type they have. Overall, a very cozy and clean environment, cute decorations, really good food, great service, and affordable prices. This is going on my top restaurants in Richmond list.

What I love besides the food is that they took an existing Wendy's and renovated it! The inside is very nice, clean, a lovely atmosphere. Extremely welcoming staff. We had lunch and it was really good. You have the selection of lunch entree, comes with soup or salad, a side of rice, side of chickpeas/potatoes (which was delicious), mango pudding and a lemon pickle (this was very different, it was like preserved lemon peel with a spicy sauce). Prices are good too. I can not wait to go back and try another dish! Pardon the pics, was so excited we started eating and then I realized I needed some photos. Many thanks to our server Aleana (sorry I am sure I have misspelled your name).

The food was flavorful and well-prepared. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure everything was to our liking. The ambiance was warm and inviting. A quick tip: when they ask about spicy level, be cautious; level 4 is no joke! Overall, a great spot for authentic Indian cuisine.
